Ford Figo Look
While the cosmetic changes from the previous iteration to the latest one remain identical across the variant line-up, the top-spec Titanium Blu comes with a slightly sportier and aggressive touch. For instance, the new chrome surrounds on the fog-lamps available on the Titanium trim have been replaced with bright blue coloured accents on the Blu variant. Similarly, the elegant chrome grille fitted on the former has been replaced with a more sinister black coloured one in the latter.
In sync with this, Ford has given the ‘Blu’ variant a blacked roof, black wing-mirrors along with 17-inch black coloured alloy wheels. Furthermore, Ford has given this variant additional decals on the door along with the boot-lid. All of these cosmetic enhancements make sure that your Figo is going to stand out in a crowd of Marutis, Hyundais and Tatas.
Ford Figo Comfort
The cabin gets a redesign as well, sporting new all-black interior with blue accents on the doors and dials along with blue contrast stitching on the seats. Again, this is offered only on the top-spec Blu variant of the Figo Facelift. The cabin is definitely a step up from the outgoing model.
The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is intuitive and has in-built navigation along with a reversing camera as well. Both Titanium and Titanium Blu variants get the same creature comforts while the base Ambiente variant is of course bare-bones. However, the new Figo does miss out on smartphone connectivity completely, which in our opinion is a big miss! To know more details on Ford Figo check Scriptcafe
The instrument console though looks old-school and we wish there was a sexier, maybe a multi-information display unit on offer…. The all-black interior does eat into your sense of space, but there is enough room for 4 adults to fit in comfortably and of course, it looks sporty. Ford is also offering a bunch of features such as auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto-climate control and push button start too…. As far as safety is concerned, dual airbags and ABS with electronic brake force distribution is standard on all variants while the top-spec Titanium Blu model gets 6 airbags, which is best-in-class.
Ford Figo Gearbox
Of the three powertrain options, we got to sample both the manuals. The new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine makes 96hp and 120Nm of torque, and is mated to a new Getrag-sourced 5-speed manual gearbox. With a light clutch operation, getting off the line is a smooth affair, and the engine is refined too. The engine’s performance at low speeds is not that exciting, though. It is not that responsive below 2,500 rpm. The real power comes in after the 2,500 mark, and here onward, the engine delivers a strong and linear performance.
The 100hp/215Nm, 1.5-litre diesel has always impressed us, and it did again with this new 5-speed gearbox. There is a small amount of turbo lag at low speeds, but it’s very well-masked. And once the turbo kicks in at 1,700rpm, you get a strong surge of power until 4,000rpm. The clutch — although heavier than that of the petrol car — is well-weighted and has a consistent feel to it.Compared to the tremendous first-gen car, the dynamics of the second-generation Figo felt a lot softer and more comfort-oriented. It is a good halfway point between the sharpness of the Sports Edition and the comfort of the standard, pre-facelift car, which is more suited for everyday driving.
Ford Figo Driving
The steering on the car, irrespective of the engine you choose, is precise. It also has the right amount of weight in it and neither feels overtly heavy nor is it overtly soft. What adds to the sense of involvement is also the dynamic chassis on the Figo. Push it around corners and the car feels like its riding on rails. The adroit handling is supported by the taut suspension set up. The car feels unflappable on the worst of worst road conditions and at highway speeds, simply hugs the road with aplomb.
Ford Figo Safety
On the safety front, Ford will offer two airbags as standard across the range, while the top-end version comes with a class leading six-airbags along with ABS and EBD.

Ford Figo Final Word
To sum it up, the Ford Figo, in this new avatar irons out the imperfections and shortcomings of the pre-facelift iteration. It looks better, comes with an improved package with the additional equipment and continues to offer the same ‘fun-to-drive’ attribute that it has always been famous for, especially the diesel derivative. That said, there are still a few things which Ford could have further improved like the clutch and material quality of certain components along with the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Nevertheless, the Figo, just as before, continues stands as a worthy competitor in the compact hatchback segment and brings something unique to the table. With prices falling in-between the range of Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 7.54 lakh for the diesel variants, it stands as a strong contender for those who are looking for a fun to drive hatchback.
